Abu Ghurab, Solar Temple Built by: Niuserre or Myuserre, Sixth Pharaoh of the 5th Dynasty

Abu Ghurab temple, was built North of Sakkara and Abusir Cities by Pharaoh Niuserre (2450-2430BC), this solemn site did not have any funeral significance, was made, only for Sun watching and revering purposes.

This place was an ancient Egyptian temple at the time of the "Old Empire" period, fifth Dynasty; it was a solar observation temple which had at the east side of the main construction either an Obelisk or a pyramidon, to follow the daily solar movements during the year
